Mr. Camins was a founding partner of Frain Camins & Swartchild in 1978. After the company was sold to Insignia/ESG in 1997, he served as Regional President from 1997 to 1999 and as Executive Managing Director from 1999 to 2001. He is the President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA), a past president of the Chicago Office Leasing Brokers Association (COLBA), a past president of the Association of Industrial and Real Estate Brokers (AIREB), elected board member of the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC), member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a board member of the Chicago Development Council (CDC), and board member and officer of the Chicago Area Council Boy Scouts. He joined the Shidler Group in 1986 as managing partner of the Chicago office, where he helped acquire, finance, lease, manage and dispose of more than $270 million of commercial property. In 1994, Mr. Tomasz was a founder of First Industrial Realty Trust. He served as its president and chief executive officer from 1994 to 1998. Under his leadership, the company grew from an initial total capitalization of $750 million to approximately $3 billion, becoming one of the largest owners/operators of industrial property in the U.S. Also under his leadership, in the years from 1995 through 1997, First Industrial provided investors a 140% total returnŠthe best performance of all dedicated industrial property real estate investment trusts during that time period. William Kritt (1931-2005) Chairman of the Executive Committee William Kritt's career in Chicago industrial and commercial real estate reached back more than 40 years. He started with Arthur Rubloff & Co. before founding his own brokerage firm, William Kritt & Co., in 1964. He sold the company to Harvey Camins and Michael Tomasz in 2001 but remained involved with the business as chairman of the executive committee. Mr. Kritt shared his experience with numerous industry associations and organizations. He was a board member of the Heartland Association and Erie Family Health Center; chairman of the Building Owners and Developers Council at the Chicago Board of Realtors; a past president of the Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIREB) and the Executive Guild; and a member of the Industrial Council of Nearwest Chicago (ICNC) and the Chicago Association of Commerce and Industry. |
